How data-only eSIM works
You install a second mobile plan on your phone that provides internet only. Your existing SIM keeps your phone number for calls and SMS (where supported).
Apps like WhatsApp, iMessage (over data), Google Maps, Uber, and PayCall all work over the eSIM data connection.
Dual-SIM settings to check
- Set eSIM as default line for Mobile Data
- Turn off Data Roaming on your home SIM
- Label lines clearly (e.g. Home / Travel)
- Enable WiFi calling on home SIM if you need inbound calls
