How Hold for me works
- 1Open pay-call.com in your browser and call the hotline — 1-800 numbers work too.
- 2The call starts in Hold for me: your microphone is off and the rate is $0.09/min.
- 3Use the keypad to get through the menu (“press 2 for card services…”). Keypad presses work while your microphone is off.
- 4Listen for the agent. PayCall doesn't listen to the line for you, so keep the call within earshot.
- 5When a person answers, tap “Turn mic on” and talk at $0.39/min.
- 6Put back on hold? Switch to Hold for me again. You can do this twice per call.
What you pay
You only pay for the time your call is connected, billed per second, from prepaid credits. There is no subscription and no app.

Good to know
- PayCall doesn't detect when a person answers and doesn't listen to, record or transcribe your call. You hear the line yourself and decide when to talk.
- Menus that ask you to say something (“say ‘billing’”) need your microphone on, so they use the speaking rate.
- Keep the PayCall tab open; it can be in the background as long as you can hear the call.
- Credit running low in a long queue? Tap “Add credits without hanging up” and pay on the call screen. The call keeps running, so you keep your place in the queue.
- Unanswered calls are never charged; you only pay for connected time, billed per second. If a call fails for a technical reason on our side, support reviews it.
- PayCall calls U.S. and Canadian numbers only and can't call emergency numbers (911/112).

How often can I switch back to Hold for me?
Twice per call. After that you can still mute your microphone, but the call stays at $0.39/min.
Can PayCall wait on hold for a 1-800 number from Europe?
PayCall supports eligible U.S. toll-free numbers from your browser over an internet connection. Check your number and rate before calling. Availability depends on the destination; a particular connection is not guaranteed. The call starts in Hold for me, so the queue costs $0.09/min.
Can I add credits while I'm on hold?
Yes. Tap “Add credits without hanging up” on the call screen and pay with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The call keeps running and the new balance extends it.
Does PayCall tell me when a person answers?
No. PayCall doesn't listen to the line. Keep the call within earshot and turn your microphone on when you hear the agent. You only pay for connected time; unanswered calls are free.
